Val Kilmer joins Iran-Hollywood co-production ‘1st Born’

US actor Val Kilmer has signed on to play in Iran-US joint production ‘1st Born’ to be directed by Iranian filmmaker Ali Atshani.

According to a Tuesday media report, Kilmer  joined ‘1st Born’, a comedy which centers on a newlywed couple who are living in California.

Being the first joint feature film co-production between Iran and Hollywood, ‘1st Born’ is notable for using a cast and crew from both the US and Iran.

Kilmer is known for his roles in some high-profile Hollywood movies, including ‘Top Gun’, ‘Batman Forever’, ‘Heat’, and ‘Tombstone’.

Meanwhile, Atshani has made movies such as ‘The President’s Cell phone’, ‘Wishbone’, and ‘Negar’s Role’. He has established himself as one of the top Iranian filmmakers.

‘1st Born’ will be produced by Sam Khoze in LA Independent Film and Entertainment in Hollywood and Iran.

Edwin Avaness is the associate producer of the movie in Hollywood and Pouria Nasserbakht is the associate producer in Iran.

The flick’s filming is said to start in Los Angeles in August 2017.
